Another from my vaudeville photos of the 1920’s. This act was called “The Abyssinian Three in the Darktown Circus.” You can just tell from their posture and confidence that whatever they did, they were really good! I love this one and even did a painting based on it. A search shows them as the “Abyssinian 3 Darktown Circus” performing in New York in 1919. In 1919 they also appeared in Bakersfield, 3,000 miles away, so they must have been well-known in their time.
